About the Role
We are looking for a Database Administrator to join our team in Spain. This role focuses on designing, scaling, and operating database platforms that support mission-critical, high-traffic systems used globally.
Key Responsibilities
- →Scale, tune, and operate high-throughput MariaDB environments
- →Design and improve high-availability, backup, and disaster-recovery strategies
- →Build automation to reduce manual operational work
- →Enhance observability with meaningful metrics and improved alerts
- →Strengthen database security through access controls and safe practices
- →Contribute to platform initiatives including containerized environments
- →Partner with engineering teams to improve performance and database hygiene
- →Participate in on-call rotations with a focus on preventative engineering
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of hands-on experience with MariaDB or MySQL
- ✓Strong understanding of high-availability architectures and distributed databases
- ✓Experience with database proxies or load-balancing technologies
- ✓Practical experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code
- ✓Solid Linux, cloud infrastructure, and networking fundamentals
- ✓Experience building container images and operating workloads on Kubernetes
- ✓Strong security mindset around access control and operational safety
- ✓Proven expertise in monitoring, alerting, and incident readiness
- ✓Excellent communication and collaboration skills
