About the Role
We are looking for a Localization Proofreader to join our team at Kabam, a leading developer of free-to-play games. This role involves proofreading Korean-to-English translations to ensure linguistic and cultural accuracy in game content.
Key Responsibilities
- →Review Korean-to-English translations for accuracy and record any errors found.
- →Maintain consistency in terminology and formatting throughout all localized materials.
- →Ensure translations are accurate for their context, consulting with editors or developers when needed.
- →Review game scripts during localization quality assurance testing.
- →Participate in reviewing localized graphics and assets for contextual appropriateness.
- →Provide constructive feedback to the translation team to enhance content quality.
- →Collaborate with localization team members to address questions and maintain communication.
- →Occasionally perform ad-hoc translation work as needed.
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or previous professional localization experience.
- ✓Fluency in Korean and English.
- ✓Entry-level candidates or those with 1-3 years of relevant translation/proofreading experience.
- ✓Strong attention to detail and an eye for linguistic nuances.
- ✓Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- ✓Ability to adapt to platform requirements and adhere to style guides.
- ✓Experience in quality assurance, translation, and proofreading is a plus.
- ✓Familiarity with games and gaming terminology.
