About the Role

We are looking for an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator Team Lead to lead and support our distributed DB engines at Kaizen Gaming, a leading GameTech company. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, focusing on optimizing, securing, and scaling distributed database environments.

Key Responsibilities

→Manage and maintain multiple MongoDB database environments using MongoDB Atlas, Ops Manager, and other distributed engines
→Design and implement redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery strategies
→Configure, maintain, and optimize replica sets and sharded clusters
→Monitor database performance and proactively identify tuning opportunities
→Define and implement backup and recovery strategies
→Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and data models
→Enforce security best practices and compliance standards
→Diagnose and resolve production incidents with 24x7 support
→Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
→Develop and maintain documentation for operational procedures

Requirements

✓5+ years of experience with large-scale distributed database systems
✓Proven hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas and Ops Manager
✓Strong experience with MongoDB high availability strategies
✓Solid understanding of NoSQL data modeling
✓Deep knowledge of database performance and tuning best practices
✓Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery design
✓Ability to write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts
✓Experience with RDBMS platforms (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus
✓Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
✓Strong written and verbal communication skills
✓Familiarity with Linux environments and Kubernetes/OpenShift
✓Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible and Terraform
