KIPP, an acronym for Knowledge Is Power Program, is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools serving students from underserved communities. Founded in 1994 by Mike Feinberg and Dave Levin in Houston, Texas, KIPP has since grown into one of the largest and most influential charter school networks in the United States. The organization is dedicated to preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and character traits needed to succeed in college and beyond, operating under the principle that all children, regardless of background, can achieve academic excellence. KIPP schools offer a rigorous academic curriculum, extended school days, and a strong emphasis on college readiness.
