The Competitive Intelligence and Strategy Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating critical competitive insights that inform strategic decision-making within our organization. You will play a critical role in helping KnowBe4 win in the market by supporting our global Revenue and Channel teams with actionable competitive insights, enablement content, and strategic deal support. This role involves tracking industry trends, competitor strategies, market dynamics, product developments, and customer feedback to enable data-driven decisions across product development, marketing, sales, and corporate strategy.
This role will drive high-impact strategic initiatives across KnowBe4 while helping build and operate the companyβs next-generation competitive intelligence function. Reporting to the Snr. Director, Corporate Strategy and Programs, this role is designed for a high-performing operator who can move from analysis to execution and deliver tangible outcomes on priority initiatives.
This role will be embedded in strategic projects across the business, with the expectation of owning workstreams, re-architecting existing processes, driving progress, and delivering results. In parallel, the Analyst will help establish a modern, AI-forward competitive intelligence capability, ensuring that strategic decisions are informed by high-quality, real-time market and competitor insights.
Responsibilities:
Competitive Advantage
β’ Build and help operationalize a modern, AI-forward competitive intelligence function, including workflows, source libraries, monitoring systems, and reporting cadences.
β’ Collect, synthesize, and structure competitive and market intelligence across competitors, pricing, product, partnerships, talent, and broader market signals.
β’ Create and maintain competitor profiles, battlecards, trackers, dashboards, and intelligence repositories for internal use.
β’ Deliver timely and actionable insights to field and corporate stakeholders to improve positioning, inform decisions, and support execution.
β’ Build systems to monitor and analyze trends in cybersecurity, Human and Agentic Risk Management, AI/ML, adjacent markets, regulatory developments, emerging threats, and technological advancements.
β’ Partner closely with the Senior Analyst, Competitive Intelligence & Strategy on ecosystem, corporate development, and broader market analyses.
β’ Conduct continuous competitive research by monitoring earnings calls, analyst reports, third-party tools (e.g., AlphaSense, Crayon, Gong) ,field intelligence and the use of AI to uncover strategic insights that inform deal strategy and sales enablement.
β’ Conduct detailed analyses of cybersecurity competitors, including product features, pricing models, market positioning, strategic direction, and customer perceptions.
β’ Collaborate closely with product marketing, sales, and product management teams to support competitive positioning and strategic initiatives.
β’ Perform competitive research to gain firsthand insights into competitor sales tactics, messaging, product demonstrations, and customer experience.
β’ Provide timely alerts and briefings to internal stakeholders on competitive moves, market shifts, or disruptive industry trends.
β’ Lead competitive win-loss analysis projects, identifying patterns, insights, and actionable recommendations to improve win rates.
β’ Present competitive intelligence findings clearly and persuasively to executives and cross-functional teams to inform strategic planning.
Strategy & Transformation
β’ Drive workstreams within high-priority strategic initiatives across the company, taking ownership from problem definition through execution and delivery.
β’ Support and help lead cross-functional projects spanning go-to-market strategy, partnerships and alliances, international expansion, and other critical business priorities.
β’ Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, track progress, and ensure initiatives move forward with pace and accountability.
β’ Partner closely with stakeholders across Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to align on priorities and drive execution.
β’ Structure complex business problems, develop hypotheses, and translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
β’ Build executive- and board-ready materials, including strategic updates, analyses, and decision-support content.
β’ Identify and evaluate growth opportunities across markets, customer segments, and routes to market, and support execution where relevant.
β’ Translate market dynamics into clear strategic implications and recommended actions.
Minimum Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in business, economics, data analytics, information science, engineering, cybersecurity, or a similar analytical field.
β’ 0-3+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, strategy, market research, consulting, research operations, or a similar analytical role in SaaS, technology, or cybersecurity.
β’ Experience using a mix of paid research tools and open-source intelligence sources strongly preferred.
β’ Hands-on experience with AI tools, automation, scraping/monitoring workflows, knowledge systems, or analytics tooling is strongly preferred.
β’ Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert fragmented data into clear insights.
β’ Demonstrated ability to build repeatable research processes and maintain high-quality intelligence assets.
β’ Comfort working with AI-enabled research tools, automation workflows, databases, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear executive-ready slides and memos.
β’ Strong attention to detail, sound judgment on source quality, and ability to distinguish signal from noise.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively across GTM, Product, Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders in a fast-growth environment.
β’ Curiosity about cybersecurity, Human Risk Management, AI/ML, and adjacent markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000, which will vary depending on how well an applicant's skills and experience align with the job description listed above.
