We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Senior Business Analyst for our Edmonton office who will deliver consultative services directly to our client and build relationships with stakeholders and project teams! This role starts as a 6 month contract with a possibility of extension.   A Day in the Life: • Perform analysis, design and implement industry leading Data Analytics and Digital transformation solutions • Create detailed documentation including conceptual design, logical design, knowledge transfer materials, FAQs, and transition to operations documents • Manage requirements traceability and requirements status throughout the project • Manage changes to baselined requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools • Establish and implement effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process. • Assist with the development of the organization’s requirements, engineering policies, procedures, and tools • Implement ways to reuse requirements across projects • Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards • Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents and work products derived from requirements specifications to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly What You Bring: • A minimum of 7 years of Business Analysis experience across a wide range of technologies including enterprise systems, data analytics and cloud offerings • Interviewing skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information • Listening skills, to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements • Facilitation skills, to lead requirements elicitation workshops • An understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice • Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to clients and their various lines of business, including senior management and C level executives • Organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information • Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as clients, management, and engineering) • Modeling skills, to represent requirements information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language What Makes You Extra Awesome: • Business Systems Analysis Certification (ECBA, ECBA+, CCBA, CBAP) • Business Process Management and methodology certifications (CBPA, CBPP, CBPL) Why Work at Long View: • Great people and culture • Interesting work – Be part of exciting projects while accessing all the latest technologies • Flexible environment – A workplace that values the importance of flexibility for personal/professional growth, happiness and wellness Want to learn more about our culture and life at Long View?
