About the Role
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join the Cloud Platform team at Mapbox. This role involves delivering cloud-native containerized infrastructure and deployment platforms that adhere to GitOps principles and support dynamic business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- →Onboard AWS resources to the declarative gitops-based framework using Terraform and Terragrunt
- →Maintain and troubleshoot legacy cloud infrastructure in AWS deployed with Cloudformation/CDK
- →Architect and promote Kubernetes deployments for new services
- →Lead migration of deployment pipelines from ECS and Cloudformation to EKS and ArgoCD
- →Architect a centralized CI pipelines framework using GitHub Actions
- →Influence and lead the Mapbox Cloud Platform strategy around AWS architecture and open-source tools
- →Configure and maintain an observability platform for real-time monitoring and analytics
- →Promote operational excellence through testing, monitoring, and on-call support
- →Document work and decision-making processes
Requirements
- ✓5+ years experience managing AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Terragrunt, Atlantis, CDK
- ✓4+ years experience orchestrating containerized workloads at scale using EKS, ECS
- ✓4+ years experience managing CI/CD frameworks using Github Actions
- ✓Strong expertise with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Istio
- ✓Proven ability to design and develop cost efficient, secure, and durable solutions on AWS
- ✓Proficient in at least one programming language (Python, Nodejs, GoLang)
- ✓Experience configuring and managing observability systems using Datadog, CloudWatch
- ✓Experience with incident response practices and resilience engineering concepts
- ✓Desire to share expertise through documentation, mentorship, and discussion
- ✓Ability to work asynchronously and independently with minimal supervision
