About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Integrations team at Mark43, where you’ll help build and scale mission-critical systems that connect the Mark43 platform to public safety tools and services. This backend-focused role involves working on APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven systems to ensure vital operational data moves seamlessly across agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop backend services to sync data between Mark43’s platform and partner systems
- →Define API requirements for state reporting integrations
- →Participate in code reviews for Kafka-based message pipelines
- →Add error handling and observability to improve data feed reliability
- →Plan roadmap priorities and technical spikes in team syncs
Requirements
- ✓2+ years of professional experience building production systems
- ✓Proficiency with backend programming languages like Java
- ✓Experience with REST APIs, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or distributed data flows
- ✓Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling
- ✓Collaborative mindset and ability to work with engineers and product managers
