The Role

We’re a team of tech-loving, meme-slinging, Nerf dart-dodging nerds on a mission to reinvent global connectivity and compute. Now, we’re on the hunt for a superstar Creative Director who can match our energy, juice up our brand, and turn ideas into jaw-dropping designs.
We’ve recently 5x’d our target addressable market, and we need a Brand Strategist who will lead our creative team to capture this new audience.
Reporting into the CMO, this isn’t your average “make the logo bigger” gig. This is where your creativity can run free, concepts get weird (in the best way), and your work helps shape a global brand. Leave Times New Roman to the accountants; this is a role where you can put your passion into action. You are someone ready to jump into this rocketship and help us stomp on the accelerator.
We are open to candidates based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne. For those located in Brisbane, we are seeking someone who can work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office presence. For candidates based in Sydney or Melbourne, the role will be primarily remote.
What You’ll Be Doing (a.k.a. your Quest Log)
•
Lead the globally distrubuted design team. Your job isn’t to spend your life in Creative Cloud, it is to lead those who do. You need to encourage their creativity, help them generate big bold attention grabbing ideas, and keep their wild ideas and projects on track.
•
Elevate our creative output by creating space for our designers and content producers to do what they do best.
•
Stakeholder management. Be the point of contact for other teams seeking creative collateral. Manage the pipeline and the priorities.
•
Partner closely with other marketing leaders to evolve and scale our identity across every channel; from campaign concepts to executive decks to unexpected surprises like puzzle boxes, trade show stunts, or Easter eggs in our website footer.

Take ownership of major creative projects, leading ideation and execution from blank page to final pixel, ensuring cohesion, creativity, and business impact.
•
Translate abstract marketing ideas into clear, effective visual narratives that resonate across digital and physical touchpoints: email, web, video, swag, slides, memes, murals, you name it.
•
Own our swag production. Megaport’s T-Shirts and conference give aways are the envy of the industry. Keep us one step ahead of the game so nobody can catch up.

Constantly raise the bar. Bring new tools, trends, and ideas to keep our work fresh, fearless, and fun.

Keep us a step ahead of the rest of the industry with our unique visual identity.
What We Are Looking For (a.k.a. your Power Ups)
•
10+ years of experience in design or creative roles (agency or in-house), with a focus on branding, marketing, and storytelling across web and print.
•
3+ years in a managerial capacity. You have lead teams and know what it is to be a leader.
•
2+ years of experience in SaaS, B2B, AI, or tech industries.
•
Strategic thinking and creative execution in equal measure. You not only think laterally, but have the follow through to make big ideas happen.
•
Mastery of design tools like Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop; working knowledge of motion design or prototyping tools is a major plus.
•
Deep understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and design systems and when to bend the rules for a delightful result.
•
Strong communication and presentation skills; you can articulate design rationale and give/receive feedback like a pro.
•
Comfortable operating with autonomy and navigating ambiguity; you can set direction and run with it.
•
Collaboration comes naturally. You bring positive energy, curiosity, and craft to everything you work on.
•
A sense of humour and playfulness is present in your design ethos.
