About the Role
We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Department of Veterans' Affairs. This role involves analyzing problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network.
Key Responsibilities
- →Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting tasks for IT customers
- →Unpack, move, and install IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- →Communicate with customers to diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues using Service Now
- →Provision newly procured endpoints including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- →Install OS patches, upgrades, and COTS software
- →Provide user management account support with Elevated Privileges when required
- →Utilize log data and system administration tools to diagnose and repair system problems
- →Perform system monitoring and analysis to identify risks and recommend improvements
- →Use Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) to troubleshoot performance issues
- →Manage inventory including pagers, media sanitization, and equipment disposal
- →Conduct routine audits of systems and software for compliance and utilization
- →Perform general maintenance activities and asset management
Requirements
- ✓HS diploma or GED with 8+ years of system administration experience, or BS degree with 2+ years of experience
- ✓Experience maintaining and troubleshooting high-volume/high-availability systems
- ✓Knowledge of debugging protocols and processes
- ✓Ability to troubleshoot customer-identified issues and implement corrective actions
- ✓Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal guidance
