IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Join a cross-functional team of software, robotics, hardware, and process engineers to drive the planning, coordination, and execution of complex technical programs across Molg's robotic microfactory systems and software platforms. As a Technical Program Manager, you will:
- Own the end-to-end program lifecycle for Molg's most complex cross-functional initiatives β from scoping and planning through execution, risk management, and delivery.
- Partner closely with engineering leads across software, robotics, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to define roadmaps, surface dependencies, and drive alignment on shared milestones.
- Build and maintain program tracking systems β timelines, OKRs, sprint dashboards, and status reports β that give the team and leadership clear visibility into progress and blockers.
- Facilitate structured communication across teams: lead standups, cross-functional syncs, and program reviews, and ensure decisions and action items are documented and followed through.
- Identify, escalate, and help resolve technical and operational risks before they become blockers β working with engineers to understand root causes and evaluate tradeoffs.
- Drive continuous improvement in how Molg plans and ships work β developing scalable processes for sprint planning, design reviews, and cross-team coordination as the company grows.
- Translate ambiguous customer or business requirements into structured engineering scopes, milestones, and delivery plans.
- Support hardware and software release coordination β helping sequence test validation gates, manufacturing milestones, and deployment readiness across Molg's systems.
- Serve as the connective tissue between technical teams and leadership β synthesizing complex program status into crisp, accurate summaries.
You'll have the opportunity to build alongside an incredible team, develop innovative solutions, and grow in a fast-paced environment that values autonomy and impact.
WHO YOU ARE:
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a closely related role β ideally in hardware, robotics, or deep-tech environments.
- Strong enough technical fluency to engage substantively with software and hardware engineers β you don't need to write the code, but you need to understand what makes it hard.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent programs with competing priorities, keeping teams focused and unblocked without creating unnecessary overhead.
- Excellent communicator β comfortable in a room with engineers debugging a problem, and equally comfortable presenting program status to company leadership.
- Experience working across both software and hardware development cycles β you understand how the two interact and how to align timelines across very different disciplines.
- Sharp judgment about when to escalate, when to push, and when to let a team work β you build trust by adding clarity, not bureaucracy.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the challenge of building process in a fast-moving startup environment where the playbook is still being written.
- Strong command of modern program and project management tooling (Jira, Linear, Notion, or similar).
- Ability to work in-person at Molg HQ in Sterling, VA.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- We're a hands-on collaborative team with big ambitions, and there's a good amount of context-switching. We expect people to be autonomous and drive their own work to completion.
- We are scrappy and looking to build a great sustainable company for years to come.
- As a growing company and startup, priorities may shift as customer or business requirements change. We strive to empower individuals with context and decision-making power to meet this need.
