About the Role
MongoDB is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their Modernization Testing and Verification team in India. This role involves creating tooling to help customers verify their application and data modernizations, ensuring functional equivalence and performance during enterprise migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and build automated frameworks for validating functional equivalence, performance benchmarks, and data integrity
- →Leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) for unit test generation and edge-case discovery
- →Build contract testing frameworks and database state-based testing solutions
- →Contribute high-quality, well-tested code to the modernization and framework team
- →Collaborate with Product Management, engineers, and designers to build and deliver on the product roadmap
- →Participate in code reviews to enforce best practices and patterns
- →Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in distributed systems
- →Provide and solicit feedback on technical design documents and pull requests
- →Perform tasks related to CI/CD, quality, and testing
Requirements
- ✓6+ years of commercial software development experience with at least one JVM language (Java preferred, Spring ecosystem a plus)
- ✓Expertise integrating LLMs into developer workflows
- ✓Experience building developer tools, infrastructure, or complex testing frameworks
- ✓Solid experience in software architecture and development
- ✓Deep expertise in application/database modernization, including change data capture and event-driven database interception
- ✓Strong Spring Boot (or equivalent Java framework), MongoDB (or equivalent), and JDBC/JPA skills
- ✓Extensive experience with relational and document data modeling
- ✓Hands-on experience with at least one SQL database (Postgres, MySQL) and one document database (MongoDB)
- ✓Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and their time and space complexity
- ✓Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ✓Curiosity, positive attitude, and drive to continue learning
