The Role
The Financial Controlling team at Monks is responsible for financial controlling of the APAC entities and of the monthly consolidation of the DDM and Content practice divisional results. The team operates in an international environment, collaborates closely, and interacts with various departments, including local finance teams, S4 group team, FP&A, MDs, tax, legal, HR, etc. The Finance Manager will have financial controlling responsibilities for various entities in APAC. Additionally, as part of the monthly consolidation the manager will work with local finance teams across the world, including US, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA. The role focuses on financial reporting, alignment, process improvements, and integration due to the company's acquisitions. This role will report into the APAC Financial Controller based in Singapore.
This is a 3 month or 6 month fixed term contract based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Key responsibilities include:
β’ Supporting and mentoring the local APAC accounting team employees to ensure timely and quality financial reporting for entities that fall under direct responsibility.
β’ Analyzing and reviewing monthly reporting packages for entities within the different company groups and liaising with local finance teams.
β’ Leading the monthly consolidation process and intercompany reconciliations, reporting to the S4 group team
β’ Acting as the main contact for financial reporting tool and drive improvement of current working practices
β’ Liaising with various stakeholders, including local finance teams, S4 group team, FP&A, MDs, tax, legal, HR, etc.
β’ Ensuring compliance with accounting and reporting standards, including preparing accounting position papers (IFRS).
β’ Overseeing the group audit process.
β’ Assisting with monthly board reporting to the management board.
β’ Playing a role in implementing new finance systems and driving process improvement and transformation projects
β’ Contributing to process documentation and improvement, as well as building a future-proof finance and reporting structure.
Requirements
β’ Bachelor or Masterβs degree in Finance, Economics, Accountancy or equivalent
β’ 6+ years of experience, preferably in a high growth, international company
β’ Experience within a transformation environment
β’ Excellent communication skills, both with financial and non-financial professionals
β’ Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle stressful situations with a positive attitude
β’ Strong analytical skills
β’ Proficiency in IFRS.
β’ Fluency in spoken and written English.
