About the Role
We’re looking for an OS 2200 Infrastructure Support Specialist to join our team, providing systems support for a major manufacturing client's data center. This role involves working with Unisys 2200 systems that are mission-critical to the client's core manufacturing business. You will contribute to ongoing modernization efforts while ensuring system stability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide on-call response and support for the client's Unisys 2200 systems environment
- →Monitor system health using Unisys and custom logging utilities
- →Triage and assess incidents, distinguishing between hardware defects, systems software issues, and application anomalies
- →Perform root cause analysis on serious incidents
- →Follow customer-defined policies for incident escalation, change control, and testing
- →Respond to emergency alerts and restore normal operations promptly
- →Monitor mainframe databases to ensure data integrity
- →Coordinate with application programmers, support staff, Unisys, and 3rd party software providers
- →Prepare and submit trouble reports to Unisys and vendors
- →Implement approved corrections and coordinate with change control procedures
- →Provide periodic reports to management about system performance
Requirements
- ✓3+ years of experience in OS 2200 systems support
- ✓Overall understanding of the Unisys 2200 ecosystem
- ✓Experience in booting OS 2200 and installing 3rd party products
- ✓Experience with Unisys OS 2200 executive control language (ECL)
- ✓Ability to obtain and interpret diagnostic data
- ✓Strong skills in incident triage
- ✓Great written and verbal communication skills
