About the Role
The Frontend Platform team at Mural builds the systems that enable product engineers and designers to focus on solving real user problems. We own the shared frontend foundations, components, design systems, infrastructure, and tooling that allow teams to ship quickly and safely while maintaining high standards for quality, accessibility, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain frontend platform systems using React and TypeScript
- →Develop shared component libraries and design systems in partnership with Design and Product
- →Define and evolve frontend architectural patterns that help teams ship safely and scale effectively
- →Build developer tooling, documentation, and examples to improve onboarding and reuse
- →Own platform performance, accessibility, and reliability
- →Identify and address systemic pain points in the frontend development lifecycle
- →Collaborate with product teams to propose solutions that reduce cost and risk
- →Participate in code reviews and platform governance
- →Mentor and influence other engineers through strong judgment and clear communication
- →Leverage AI tools across design, implementation, debugging, and documentation
- →Evaluate and introduce new frontend technologies and practices
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of professional experience building complex frontend systems
- ✓Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS
- ✓Proven experience building or maintaining shared component libraries or frontend platforms
- ✓Strong understanding of frontend architecture tradeoffs
- ✓Experience optimizing for performance, accessibility, internationalization, and responsive design
- ✓Comfort working in large codebases and monorepos
- ✓Familiarity with modern frontend testing strategies and build systems
- ✓Platform mindset focused on APIs, contracts, and documentation
- ✓Strong debugging skills and clear communication abilities
- ✓Bias toward owning problems end-to-end
