About the Role

Natera is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join their Early Cancer Detection product development team. This role involves process optimization and product verification studies to advance Natera’s oncology product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

→Contribute to the design, development, and validation of automated high-throughput NGS assays for FDA submission
→Implement technical projects while adhering to timelines and deliverable schedules
→Design, plan, and execute complex experiments with basic data analysis
→Collaborate with assay development scientists on specifications for future production assays
→Ensure developed methods meet Natera’s quality standards with Clinical Laboratory and Quality Assurance
→Coordinate with internal groups to plan and execute workflow processes
→Write project protocols, reports, and SOPs
→Plan and execute verification activities
→Identify areas for continuous improvement in production workflows

Requirements

✓Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or related field with 4+ years of industry experience, or M.S. degree with 2+ years of experience
✓Experience with IVD product development and design controls
✓Strong understanding of nucleic acid extraction, PCR, NGS library preparation, and hybrid capture technologies
✓Hands-on experience in reagent preparation and quality control for NGS-based assays
✓Experience with high-throughput automated assays using liquid handler robots
✓Experience executing studies including stability, guardbanding, reproducibility, and repeatability
✓Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment under CLIA/CAP
✓Data analysis skills with JMP and Excel, coding skills with Python or R, and liquid handler programming experience are a plus
✓Excellent communication, organizational, record-keeping, planning, attention to detail, and time management skills
✓Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and collaborate cross-functionally
