About the Role
The Director, Outside Counsel Management & Operations, Global Legal Operations & Innovation plays a critical role in supporting the strategic, operational, and technological effectiveness of NBCU Legal. This role partners closely with Legal leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive efficiency and advance the function’s operational maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- →Support management of the Legal function’s outside counsel and vendor spend, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis
- →Assist with development and execution of outside counsel governance frameworks
- →Support RFPs, panel management initiatives, and other strategic sourcing efforts
- →Partner with Legal leadership to analyze spend trends and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- →Support the implementation, optimization, and day-to-day use of legal spend and matter management technology solutions
- →Analyze financial and operational data related to matters, vendors, and spend
- →Assist in Legal function financial planning activities, including annual budget cycles
- →Support development of the Legal department’s strategic plan by benchmarking practices
- →Lead and manage special projects related to legal operations, spend management, and vendor strategy
- →Provide line management for the E-billing Coordinator in supporting Outside Counsel Management activities
Requirements
- ✓Experience in legal operations, outside counsel management, or related field
- ✓Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- ✓Knowledge of legal technology solutions and matter management systems
- ✓Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- ✓Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- ✓Leadership experience managing teams or projects
