About the Role
We are looking for a Freelance Assignment Desk Editor to join NBC Boston. This is a part-time project/limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 8-12 months.
Key Responsibilities
- →Enterprise story ideas for coverage and interview subjects
- →Assign crews to news stories and provide support for complete coverage, including research, contact information, phone calls, video etc.
- →Coordinate feeds and media sharing with affiliates
- →Monitor all changing and developing news stories from news wires, social media, scanners, contacts, public relations, phone calls, and viewer suggestions
- →Communicate with production staff and management on the status of coverage and stories
- →Establish network of contacts and sources across the Boston DMA
- →Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
