About the Role

The Brand & Illustration Designer will be a key creative force in representing and elevating Newsela’s visual identity. This role supports high-impact projects that shape how our brand is experienced across all touchpoints, helping to evolve brand guidelines and expand our illustration library.

Key Responsibilities

→Support the ideation and execution of strategic design projects that enhance Newsela’s brand identity.
→Present creative concepts and strategies to stakeholders, articulating the vision and impact of your designs.
→Maintain and expand Newsela’s illustration library, ensuring consistency in style, color, and storytelling.
→Develop original illustrations and visual elements that enhance brand storytelling and product experiences.
→Act as a creative partner for Marketing, Product, and other teams to deliver cohesive visual campaigns.

Requirements

✓4+ years of brand design experience (in-house or agency) with a robust portfolio.
✓Strong understanding of brand strategy and ability to push creative boundaries while maintaining brand consistency.
✓Proficiency in creating original illustrations with a keen eye for visual storytelling.
✓Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, and other design tools.
✓Experience pitching and explaining designs and creative directions.
✓Ability to translate business goals into compelling visual narratives.
