About the Role

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, design, and maintain enterprise database systems that support mission-critical applications and business operations. This role ensures database availability, performance, security, and integrity while adhering to industry standards and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

→Administer, design, and develop enterprise database systems to support organizational applications
→Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database management systems
→Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies
→Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
→Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and methodologies
→Implement and enforce database standards and best practices
→Support database development activities including schema design and query optimization
→Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, test, and production environments
→Develop and maintain technical documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures

Requirements

✓A four-year degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
✓Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a related Information Technology (IT) role
✓Demonstrated experience with database administration, design, and development
✓Experience working with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server
✓Experience applying database standards and industry methodologies
✓Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
