About the Role
NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a System Administrator to support mission-critical U.S. Army defense engineering programs. This essential role involves maintaining secure network enclaves across DREN, CRN, and NSA networks to ensure compliance and operational integrity for top-priority Army missions.
Key Responsibilities
- →Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain servers, workstations, operating systems, and network infrastructure across DREN, CRN, and NSA enclaves
- →Apply security patches, updates, STIGs, and configuration baselines; perform vulnerability scans and remediate findings
- →Conduct routine system and network monitoring, performance tuning, backup/recovery operations, and disaster recovery planning/testing
- →Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in real time to minimize downtime
- →Ensure all division networks remain fully functional, highly available, and compliant
Requirements
- ✓Active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph (CI Preferred)
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- ✓IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC)
- ✓Proven hands-on experience as a System Administrator in DoD, Army research lab, or cleared environments
- ✓In-depth knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration, networking fundamentals, Active Directory, virtualization, and security hardening practices
