About the Role
We are seeking a Medically Trained Interpreter to join our Patient Relations/Interpreter Services Liaison team at NM. This role requires healthcare experience and professional interpretation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide complete and accurate interpretation of spoken conversations in healthcare settings
- →Complete pre-encounter sessions to inform clinical staff about cultural specifics
- →Work agreed upon shifts and communicate any scheduling conflicts 24 hours in advance
- →Serve as a patient advocate to ensure Patient Rights are honored
- →Assist in translating critical forms into various languages as needed
- →Evaluate and prioritize interpretation requests for appropriate and timely responses
- →Complete new admissions rounding
- →Introduce newly admitted patients with language barriers to communication options
- →Collect data on interpreter utilization during each shift
Requirements
- ✓Medically trained interpreter certification
- ✓One year of healthcare experience
- ✓Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8am-1pm
- ✓Professional and ethical conduct in all interactions
