About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with strong leadership potential to join our Cloud Tooling and Pipelines team at Okta. This role involves driving the architectural direction and implementation of scalable and reliable tooling for automating critical processes in our Continuous Delivery (CD) platform.

Key Responsibilities

→Shape the technical roadmap of the CD Platform, including Spinnaker
→Architect and design scalable deployment pipelines and IaC executions
→Design and implement critical infrastructure tooling for high reliability and efficiency
→Develop high-quality microservices in Java, Python, or Go
→Collaborate with Operations and Product teams to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions
→Introduce and evangelize industry best practices in infrastructure and automation
→Embed security into development practices for a secure infrastructure stack
→Identify and drive self-service automation opportunities

Requirements

✓4+ years of Software Development in Java, Go, Python or similar backend languages
✓3+ years of experience building services, internal tools, and frameworks
✓2+ years of experience automating and deploying large-scale production services in AWS, GCP, or similar
✓Working knowledge of Kubernetes, ECS, Istio, Spinnaker
✓Working knowledge of database technologies (MySQL, MongoDB)
✓Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
✓Proficient using Docker and supporting infrastructure with strong Linux and networking fundamentals
✓B.S. Computer Science or relevant experience
✓U.S. Person status required for access to federal environments/data
