About the Role
Weβre building the observability product for OpenAI, focusing on scalable infrastructure and AI-powered UI. Our systems handle petabytes of logs and billions of time series metrics, with intelligent features like agents that summarize SEVs and auto-generate dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- βOwn core observability infrastructure including distributed logging, time series, and trace storage
- βBuild AI-native tools to help engineers detect, understand, and resolve issues autonomously
- βContribute to UI experiences like dashboards, notebooking, or interactive debugging
- βCollaborate with engineers, researchers, and other teams to build the next generation observability product
Requirements
- βExperience operating large-scale distributed systems in production
- βAbility to thrive in ambiguous environments and solve unscoped problems
- βFull-stack development skills or product sensibilities
- βStrong fundamentals in systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure
- βExperience with Kubernetes, AWS, and observability systems like Prometheus or OpenTelemetry is a plus
