About the Role
PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a Software Quality Engineer I to join their team. This early-career role focuses on testing and validating retail and restaurant technology products including Point of Sale, Ordering Kiosk, and Drive Thru Ordering Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- →Create and execute test cases based on product requirements and user workflows
- →Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing across multiple builds and environments
- →Validate end-to-end workflows including setup, connectivity behaviors, and device functional states
- →Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and environment details
- →Partner with developers to isolate root causes and verify fixes
- →Maintain test evidence and contribute to release readiness reporting
- →Assist in building and maintaining test scripts and automation
- →Support test bench setup and maintenance
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- ✓0–2 years of experience in software/system testing
- ✓Familiarity with software test fundamentals: test cases, regression, defect lifecycle
- ✓Ability to work in Linux and/or Windows environments
- ✓Exposure to scripting or programming (Python preferred)
- ✓Strong written communication skills
- ✓Comfort using basic lab tools
- ✓Strong attention to detail and consistent execution habits
- ✓Collaborative mindset
