About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Data to join Patreon's Data Engineering team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and models that power creator analytics, ML systems, and internal analytics at Patreon.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion of raw data from various sources into the Data Lake
- →Develop intuitive, performant, and scalable data models to support product features and analytics
- →Implement robust batch and streaming pipelines using Spark, Python, and Airflow
- →Build pipelines adhering to standards for accuracy, completeness, lineage, and dependency management
- →Work with cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous questions into well-scoped data solutions
- →Pay down technical debt and improve automation in data modeling, testing, and reliability
- →Mentor peers earlier in their career within the team
Requirements
- ✓4+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2+ years in building scalable data pipelines
- ✓Familiarity with SQL and distributed data processing tools like Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams
- ✓Strong programming foundations in Python or similar language
- ✓Experience with modern data lakes (Delta Lake, Iceberg) and data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- ✓Understanding of data modeling and metric design principles
- ✓Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
