About the Role
We are looking for an AI Compiler Engineer to join the Renesas HPC team. This role focuses on driving compiler and code generation technologies for next-generation automotive System-on-Chip platforms, including advanced 3 nm silicon for software-defined vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- βLead AI compiler architecture across model ingestion, graph optimization, lowering, code generation, and runtime integration
- βDesign and implement graph-level optimizations (operator fusion, quantization-aware rewrites, memory-aware scheduling, partitioning)
- βDrive performance optimization for target NPUs, including tiling, tensor layout, and multi-core execution strategies
- βPartner with SoC and AI accelerator architects to influence hardware features through compiler insights
- βOwn performance KPIs for real automotive AI workloads using simulators, profilers, and silicon-correlated models
- βEnsure compiler outputs meet automotive requirements (real-time behavior, determinism, quality expectations)
- βMentor senior engineers and set technical direction without people-management responsibilities
Requirements
- βExperience in compiler development and AI model optimization
- βStrong understanding of hardware-software co-design
- βKnowledge of NPUs and performance optimization techniques
- βFamiliarity with automotive functional safety standards
- βProficiency in graph optimization and code generation
