RevenueCat removes the headaches of building and scaling in‑app subscriptions. Since graduating from YC’s S18 batch we’ve grown into the default monetization platform for mobile: we’re in >40% of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $10B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo dev in Brazil to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue.
We’re a remote‑first crew of 120+, spread across 25 countries, and guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance. If you want your work to touch hundreds of millions of end‑users (and help the developers behind them get paid), you’ll fit right in.
The Role:
RevenueCat sits at the center of the app ecosystem. When Apple changes a policy, when a new monetization trend emerges, or when our data reveals something important about the market, our audience should be able to look to RevenueCat for a clear, useful point of view.
We're hiring a Content Marketing Manager, Insights & Research, to make that happen. You'll work closely with our data team to turn proprietary benchmark and product data into original research — most notably the State of Subscription Apps report — and react quickly when industry news breaks with analysis that goes beyond the headline. You'll partner with the broader content team to make sure those insights reach our audience through the blog, newsletter, podcast, and campaigns.
This role is for someone with a journalistic mindset and strong analytical instincts. You follow the app ecosystem closely, you have opinions about which developments actually matter, and you get excited by the idea of finding a story in a dataset. If you already watch WWDC keynotes with a critical eye and have strong takes on App Store policies, let's talk.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Industry Analysis & Reactive Content: Track important industry developments and help RevenueCat respond with speed, clarity, and a useful point of view. Monitor the app ecosystem for relevant news, policy changes, and emerging trends. Write timely analysis that clarifies what’s happening, why it matters, and what app teams should do next.
- Data-Driven Insights & Original Research: Lead the editorial and analytical direction of our flagship annual report, the State of Subscription Apps (SOSA). Work with our data team to produce a steady stream of data-driven content throughout the year, turning RevenueCat’s unique dataset into original insights only we can publish.
- Editorial Intelligence & Collaboration: Act as a source of editorial insight across the content team. Develop data-backed story ideas, help App Growth Experts contribute their expertise to timely topics, and support the podcast team with relevant angles and context.
- Shared Responsibilities: Contribute to cross-functional campaign and launch comms as part of a collaborative content team. In your first few months, you’ll also help support editorial continuity (for example, working with our external subject matter experts on their blogs).
What Success Looks Like:
Within the first month, you'll:
- Get up to speed on RevenueCat’s voice, editorial standards, and key datasets.
- Build working relationships with the data team and the broader content team.
- Publish your first timely analysis piece in response to an industry development.
- Start contributing to editorial continuity during a teammate’s parental leave.
Within the first 3 months, you'll:
- Establish a repeatable cadence for timely analysis that helps position RevenueCat as a trusted voice on industry developments.
- Contribute a data-driven angle or insight that shapes a piece of content in another channel (e.g., a podcast episode or AGE blog post).
- Support or lead content for a marketing campaign or event, showing you can contribute beyond the core editorial remit when needed.
Within the first 6 months, you'll:
- Publish your first original research asset or data-led report using RevenueCat data.
- Become a trusted internal source of context on relevant app ecosystem developments.
- Build a clear, repeatable process for tracking and responding to industry news.
After 12 months, you'll:
- Lead the editorial direction for the next State of Subscription Apps report in partnership with the data team.
- Be a trusted internal and external voice on key developments in the subscription app economy.
- Show clear impact on RevenueCat’s authority through timely analysis, original research, and insights used across channels.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in a role that requires writing and analysis, such as content marketing, journalism, or market research.
- You already follow the mobile app ecosystem closely — app store policies, monetization trends, developer economics.
- A journalistic mindset. You’re curious, you move with speed, you can synthesize complex information quickly, and you have a strong point of view.
- Data literacy. You’re comfortable working with data, partnering with data analysts, and finding the narrative in the numbers. You don’t need to be a data scientist, but you need to be able to speak the language.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills. You can write a sharp, timely analysis as well as a nuanced, data-heavy report. Your portfolio demonstrates both.
- Are comfortable working with AI tools to accelerate research and drafting, while knowing where human judgment can't be replaced.
Ideally You:
- Have a background in data journalism, or have worked as an analyst or writer covering the tech/mobile industry.
- Have experience producing or contributing to a flagship research report, annual benchmark, or data-driven editorial series — not just one-off blog posts.
- Have experience writing for a technical audience (developers, product managers, founders) without dumbing things down or losing clarity.
