About the Role
Teamfight Tactics is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help scale quality across a complex, fast-moving live game. This hands-on role focuses on improving testability, expanding automated coverage, and partnering with feature teams to prevent defects.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own and evolve TFT’s automated testing strategy for game engine-based gameplay systems and live-service features
- →Architect and maintain robust test frameworks and tooling using C++ and game engines
- →Partner with engineers to design testable systems and influence technical decisions
- →Set expectations for automation coverage and quality signals across the TFT team
- →Identify systemic quality risks and drive cross-team mitigation plans
- →Lead investigation of high-impact issues and provide technical analysis
- →Use metrics and dashboards to inform release readiness
- →Mentor other QA automation engineers
- →Represent TFT quality concerns in cross-team discussions
Requirements
- ✓7+ years of experience in software engineering, test automation, or SDET roles
- ✓Expert-level programming skills in C++ and proficiency in another language
- ✓Significant experience with game engines (Unreal, Unity) on PC and mobile
- ✓Proven track record of designing test frameworks for complex codebases
- ✓Strong experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
- ✓Ability to influence architecture and team behavior through partnership
- ✓Excellent debugging, communication, and technical leadership skills
