About the Role

Roku is seeking a Subscription Platform Architect to join our growing team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining a highly available and scalable subscription platform that serves billions of viewers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

→Lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and designs
→Engage in architectural discussions across multiple teams
→Provide technical leadership to ensure high availability and scalability
→Demonstrate engineering excellence through hands-on examples
→Own building platform features and collaborate with product and engineering teams
→Design and implement shared architectural layers and libraries
→Review technical specifications and collaborate on solutions
→Evangelize best practices across all functions
→Be actively involved in code/design reviews

Requirements

✓10+ years of experience in architecting large-scale services
✓Experience building systems for streaming, API, notifications, and batch processing
✓Expertise with subscription flows including tax, payment, purchase, renewal, etc.
✓Strong architectural design experience with a track record of building scalable platforms
✓Strong expertise with AWS or GCP cloud solutions
✓Experience designing complex transactional systems
✓Strong passion for technology and automation
✓Knowledge of platform infrastructure like Kubernetes, Istio, and Envoy
