About the Role
Samsara is seeking a Software & ML Engineering Manager to lead a team building new approaches to turning telematics data into actionable insights. This role involves detecting anomalies across vast fleets and creating clear workflows for incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- →Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software and ML engineers
- →Develop clear roadmaps and technical strategies for new product initiatives
- →Build systems to analyze large-scale telematics data and detect fleet anomalies
- →Lead end-to-end security and incident workflows
- →Guide the team in applying ML and AI techniques to create differentiated capabilities
- →Partner with Product, Design, Firmware, and Data Science teams
- →Champion engineering excellence while maintaining high velocity
- →Keep the team connected to customers through rapid prototyping and feedback loops
- →Embed Samsara’s cultural principles as the team scales globally
Requirements
- ✓6+ years of professional software development experience
- ✓3+ years of formal people management experience in a product-driven environment
- ✓Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
- ✓Strong technical judgment and curiosity
- ✓Excellent communication skills across engineering and cross-functional partners
- ✓Passion for developing engineers and building a high-performance team culture
