About the Role
We are looking for a Developer Ecosystem Architect to join Samsara, the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud. This role involves architecting the developer ecosystem that allows customers and partners to build next-generation solutions for transport, construction, and utilities, powered by Samsara's data and AI.
Key Responsibilities
- →Architect the data nervous system for physical operations, evolving our high-throughput eventing platform into the core data pipeline for customer and internal AI initiatives.
- →Own the strategy and architecture for our serverless compute platform, empowering thousands of developers to run complex logic directly on Samsara's data streams.
- →Spearhead the technical vision for our external APIs, establishing the architectural governance that ensures consistency and scalability across all Samsara products.
- →Operate as a force-multiplier for engineering, mentoring senior engineers and driving technical alignment on our most complex systems.
- →Define the multi-year technical roadmap for our developer platform by partnering directly with product leadership and our largest enterprise customers.
Requirements
- ✓Proven impact architecting and operating large-scale data streaming systems, with experience building and scaling Kafka systems in production.
- ✓A builder's mindset for data and AI, with the ability to architect connections between Kafka, data lakes, and ML infrastructure.
- ✓Pragmatic expertise in serverless compute, understanding trade-offs and designing powerful architectures for developers.
- ✓A history of owning public-facing APIs, establishing technical vision and governance for developer ecosystems.
- ✓Intellectual honesty in leadership, aligning multiple engineering teams around complex technical visions.
- ✓A drive to raise the standard, with technical depth and clarity of thought to elevate engineers.
