About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join SEEK’s Engineering Platforms group, specifically the Traffic Management team. This role focuses on ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for engineering teams by managing traffic flows between the internet and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the design and operation of SEEK’s traffic management capabilities from Cloudflare through to Kubernetes and AWS
- →Architect scalable, secure systems for traffic management with comprehensive network visibility
- →Build tools and frameworks that streamline deployment, monitoring, and developer workflows
- →Champion Infrastructure-as-Code practices (especially Terraform) and drive testing and automation across environments
- →Partner with Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams to align platform roadmaps with SEEK’s technical strategy
- →Mentor engineers and advocate for best practices in software engineering, reliability, observability, and scalable system design
Requirements
- ✓Deep expertise in modern software engineering practices, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and Istio
- ✓Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, particularly Terraform
- ✓Strong understanding of AWS services including Route53, IAM, load balancers, S3, and Lambda
- ✓Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and PagerDuty
- ✓Experience with CI/CD tools like BuildKite, Helm, and ArgoCD
- ✓Ability to mentor engineers and drive best practices in software engineering
