About the Role
We are looking for a Database Administrator to join our team at SmithRx, a rapidly growing Health-Tech company. This role focuses on designing and administering cloud-based database systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency of data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- →Manage and maintain PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Athena databases on AWS Cloud
- →Monitor database performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues
- →Design and implement growth strategies for databases to handle increasing demands
- →Develop and maintain high security standards to protect sensitive PHI data
- →Ensure compliance with database privacy regulations like HIPAA and SOC2
- →Design and implement Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan
- →Develop and maintain data restoration pipelines
- →Collaborate with security, development, and architecture teams
- →Support software development teams with query optimization and coding practices
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience in Database Administration
- ✓BS or advanced degree in computer science or related field
- ✓Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- ✓Deep understanding of AWS Database services
- ✓Ability to identify bottlenecks and optimize queries and schemas
- ✓Experience with monitoring tools like Cloudwatch and DataDog
- ✓Experience with change management practices and infrastructure automation
- ✓Experience in regulated environments with data privacy regulations
- ✓Strong scripting skills in SQL, Python, and Shell
