About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Employment and Regulatory Lawyer to join our legal team. This role involves collaborating with HR and other departments to address legal issues and ensure compliance with employment laws while aligning with business objectives. The position reports to the Vice President of Legal and is based in Arlington, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

→Provide daily advice on employment issues including HR practices, performance management, terminations, and compensation
→Work with HR to manage employee relations issues, investigations, and disciplinary actions
→Recommend, implement, and improve employment law-related training programs
→Review, draft, and update company policies such as employment agreements and HR policies
→Assess risk and oversee employment-related administrative charges and disputes
→Draft responses to government agencies and manage outside counsel as needed
→Assist in handling subpoenas and document requests

Requirements

✓JD or equivalent with admission to at least one US state bar
✓Experience in employment and labor disputes and knowledge of federal/state laws
✓Ability to build relationships and earn confidence from business partners
✓Strong analytical capabilities, judgment, and strategic thinking skills
✓Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise and work proactively
✓Ability to work independently under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
