About the Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team at Sopra Steria in Stavanger. This role focuses on creating insights, developing intelligent solutions, and helping clients make better decisions based on data.

Key Responsibilities

→Develop Business Intelligence and analytics solutions for decision support
→Perform exploratory data analysis and visualization
→Develop and operationalize machine learning models
→Work with AI solutions and AI agents, including the use of modern language models
→Collaborate with data engineers and architects on modern, cloud-based data platforms
→Contribute to analysis and AI architecture with a focus on scalability and quality
→Communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

✓3–5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Analytics consultant
✓Relevant higher education
✓Good proficiency in Norwegian and English
✓Strong competence in analytics, statistics, and visualization
✓Experience with machine learning and AI, preferably also generative AI
✓Programming experience in Python and solid SQL skills
✓Understanding of data platforms and architecture within BI, analytics, and machine learning – preferably experience with platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Databricks
✓Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
✓Ability to communicate complex analyses clearly
