About the Role
We are looking for a Tooling Design and Automation Engineer to join SpaceX's Starlink team. This role involves designing and developing factory solutions for consumer electronics, focusing on machine design, robotics, motion systems, and factory health monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and manage factory design projects from initial ideation to hand-off to operational teams
- →Develop design criteria and drive system-level optimization for in-house machine design
- →Refine production systems to create high-rate, high-yield, and reliable processes
- →Implement compliant systems for robots, gantries, conveyors, and other manufacturing equipment
- →Create schedules and budgets, and motivate the team to achieve them
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or science discipline
- ✓Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
- ✓1+ years of experience with mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing
- ✓Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary
- ✓Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
