<div>We're actively seeking a remote <strong>Quality Engineer</strong> for to do DTS PFMEA reivews. This is a 4-10 week contract position. The role is part time, doing as-needed work 15-35 hour work weeks.. We are looking for associates with strong experience in the aerospace industry who is okay with as-needed work. </div>
Keep Responsibilities
β’ PFMEA and PPAP reviews
β’ Assess completeness and technical accuracy of:
β’ Failure modes and failure mechanisms
β’ Cause-effect relationships tied to process steps
β’ Evaluate:
β’ Severity, Occurrence, Detection rankings
β’ Risk prioritization methodology (RPN or equivalent)
β’ Challenge robustness of:
β’ Preventive vs. detection controls
β’ Verify alignment with:
β’ Actual manufacturing process flow
β’ Known risks identified during assessments (RCR, commodity review, FAI)
β’ Ensure full linkage between PFMEA and Control Plan
β’ Evaluate:
β’ Control methods (error-proofing, SPC, inspection)
β’ Reaction plans for out-of-spec (OOS) conditions
β’ Confirm:
β’ Coverage of critical characteristics
β’ Adequacy of inspection frequency and methods
β’ Review statistical capability studies (Cp, Cpk)
β’ Validate:
β’ Data integrity and collection methodology
β’ Sample size and statistical relevance
β’ Process stability (variation analysis)
β’ Confirm readiness against thresholds (e.g., Cpk β₯ 1.33)
β’ Develop structured engineering review reports including:
β’ Gap assessment (Critical / Major / Minor)
β’ Risk implications
β’ Recommended corrective actions
β’ Provide clear DTS readiness recommendation

Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or equivalent)
β’ 7+ years in:
β’ Aerospace, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environments
β’ Supplier quality or process engineering
β’ Strong experience with:
β’ PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP
β’ Statistical analysis and process capability
β’ Deep understanding of:
β’ Failure mechanisms and risk analysis
β’ Manufacturing processes (machining, forming, assembly)
β’ Strong knowledge of:
β’ AS9100 / ISO 9001 / GMP (as applicable)
β’ AIAG Core Tools (PFMEA, MSA, SPC)
β’ Ability to interpret:
β’ Engineering drawings and specifications
β’ Inspection and test data
β’ Critical thinking and technical rigor
β’ Ability to challenge supplier assumptions constructively
β’ Strong written communication (client-facing reports)
β’ Detail-oriented with systems-level thinking
