<div>The Quality Engineer I role provides hands-on experience supporting essential quality assurance and early-career engineering functions within a fast-paced production environment. This position bridges inspection, operations, and engineering by assisting with documentation control, nonconformance analysis, inspection support, and foundational root-cause and corrective-action activities. Working under the guidance of senior Quality Engineers, the Quality Engineer I contributes to maintaining product compliance, strengthening process control, and supporting audit readiness while gaining exposure to customer and FAA requirements. This role offers a strong development pathway for individuals looking to expand technical capabilities, deepen manufacturing knowledge, and progress toward higher-level quality engineering responsibilities.</div>
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Support Quality Assurance (QA) documentation and basic quality engineering tasks.
β’ Perform inspection support and verification activities under supervision.
β’ Assist in generating dispositions for nonconforming work tags (WTs) and provide basic support to the Material Review Board (MRB) under guidance of senior engineers.
β’ Support First Article Inspection (FAI) planning and execution, including data collection, dimensional verification, and documentation validation.
β’ Learn and apply Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) tools; assist with investigations by gathering objective evidence and documenting corrective actions.
β’ Participate in Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings as an observer or contributing member.
β’ Support continuous improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to reduce defects, streamline processes, and strengthen compliance.
β’ Utilize SAP/MES systems for work order tracking, documentation updates, nonconformance tagging, and planning validation.
β’ Assist in reviewing and updating work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality documentation.
β’ Help prepare materials and collect records for internal audits and external customer/FAA assessments.
β’ Participate in internal audits, FAA compliance reviews, and customer process audits.
β’ Assist with planning, readiness activities, and corrective action follow-up associated with audit events.
β’ Attend customer-facing and regulatory meetings as a representative, observer, or meeting recorder.
β’ Perform daily walk-downs with inspection and operations teams to verify process adherence and accurate documentation.
β’ Provide timely feedback on quality issues, assist with containment actions, and help validate rework or repair activity.
β’ Support on-the-floor investigations of nonconforming parts in partnership with senior Quality Engineers and Operations.
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in engineering or 4 years of equivalent experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related technical fields.
β’ Basic understanding of aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
β’ Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
