Senior Software Engineer, Catalog Platform (Back-End) (StubHub, Inc., New York, NY)
Enhance observability and robustness of the software systems with automatic regression detection. Optimize data modelling and storage patterns within application layer for downstream consumption. Build systems that extract structured insights from semi-structured and unstructured sources at scale, with a focus on performance and accuracy. Integrate and fine-tune large-scale language models for production applications, enabling automation of complex operational tasks. Launch features that have immediate impact on the velocity of innovation and ultimately growth of the business. Demonstrate consistently executing with agility resulting in high-quality outcomes. Coordinate personal project tasks, meet deadlines, and consistently demonstrate high technical standards through individual contributions. Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain impactful improvements across platforms and products. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to StubHub, Inc. at 3 World Trade Center β 175 Greenwich Street, 59th Floor, New York, New York 10007. Salary: $200,000 to $250,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Masterβs degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or other occupation/position/job title performing back-end software engineering and development.
In lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or other occupation/position/job title performing back-end software engineering and development.
Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience working on back-end system infrastructure using programming languages (including Python, C#, and SQL); 3 years of professional experience building and maintaining complex distributed systems that operate at a significant scale (millions of users, over 40 thousand requests per second); 3 years of professional experience working within the Azure cloud ecosystem including Azure Service Bus, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Explorer, Azure storage, and Azure Key Vault; 3 years of professional experience modeling and storing data in SQL and exposing it through microservices; 3 years of professional experience utilizing GitHub, .NET, JIRA, and Python; 3 years of professional experience deploying, integrating, and optimizing large-scale generative AI models (including foundation models from multiple providers) into production back-end systems; and 3 years of professional experience designing distributed data ingestion and enrichment pipelines with fault tolerance and automated anomaly detection for high-volume, real-time environments using AWS services (including EC2, CloudWatch, S3, and Step Functions) for scalable automation and observability.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidateβs qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHubβs total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
