About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Data Query Team at Sumo Logic, Inc. This role involves building scalable backend services for a proprietary query engine that processes petabytes of data and serves hundreds of millions of queries daily.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign and implement high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems for processing and managing petabytes of customer data.
- βAnalyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
- βWrite robust code and demonstrate its robustness through automated tests.
- βWork as a team member to respond quickly and effectively to business needs.
- βProvide on-call support for the team.
Requirements
- βB.Tech, M.Tech, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline
- β2-3 years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership
- βObject-oriented experience in Java, Scala, Ruby, or C++
- βUnderstanding of performance characteristics of commonly used data structures
- βDesire to learn Scala
Desired Qualifications
- βExperience in multi-threaded programming and distributed systems
- βExperience in big data and/or 24x7 commercial service
- βFamiliarity with Unix (Linux, OS X)
- βAgile software development experience
- βEnjoy working in a dynamic environment
