About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Global Accounts team at SumUp. You'll help build a fully distributed, event-driven system for our bank account platform, enabling millions of merchants worldwide to access seamless banking tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build critical infrastructure from scratch: Contribute to the design and implementation of a newly architected global accounts platform
- →Master event-driven architecture: Work extensively with Kafka to build a decoupled, resilient system
- →Solve complex compliance challenges: Design flexible systems that handle varying regulatory requirements across regions
- →Enable other teams: Build a self-service platform for internal teams
- →Work globally: Impact EU and LATAM markets with potential US expansion
Requirements
- ✓Strong technical foundation in Kotlin with interest in Golang and Elixir
