About the Role
Syngenta is seeking a Research Associate Sunflower to join their team in MezΕtΓΊr. This role involves serving as a scientific reference for NSPP Specialists, acting as an interface between Breeders and Operations, and providing technical direction to NSPP Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- βPlan and design nursery and production (ISO) trials, prepare summaries and technical reports
- βAct as Scientific & Technical reference point for local Operation Teams
- βInterface between Breeders and Operational team for process follow-up
- βAccountable for NSP local KPIs collection, visualization in dashboard and indicator evaluations
- βContribute to NSP protocols and ways of working standardization
- βManage germplasm according to Seeds Retention Policy and other Procedures
- βLead NSP data collection, primarily supporting the MET Sunflower breeding program
- βContribute to notations in local yield and observations trials
- βParticipate in selections and advancement decisions through product development stages
- βImplement marker-assisted breeding (MAB) and genomic selection (GS)
- βSupport Data Quality Control of nursery trials
- βSecure and support activities related to material creation and tracking
- βRun first experiment analysis and prepare summaries associating phenotypic and genotypic data
- βVisualize data
Requirements
- βScientific background in agriculture or related field
- βExperience with breeding programs and data analysis
- βProficiency with MINT, SPIRIT, TOPS, ADAPT, GARF, STARLIMS tools
- βKnowledge of marker-assisted breeding and genomic selection
- βStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
- βAbility to work collaboratively with breeders and operational teams
- βExperience with data management and visualization
- βUnderstanding of scientific literature and breeding protocols
