Included VC is a groundbreaking global initiative founded in 2019 to build diversity in venture capital. It is the only Fellowship of its kind offering a fully-funded, half-year+ world-class Fellowship to individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and communities worldwide - including those defined by ethnicity, gender, neurodiversity, socioeconomic status, LGBTQIA+ identities, refugees, and disability.

Included VC Africa was built on the success and network developed over the previous five years, ensuring the same global standard, with a locally focused approach that encapsulates the unique realities of the African early-stage investment space. Importantly, itโs focused on the investment ecosystem more broadly, representing all players investing in early-stage tech companies and small and medium-sized enterprises, inclusive of VC, CVC, family offices, venture Fellowships, impact investors, fund of funds, catalytic capital from foundation and non-profit structured entities, development agencies, and DFIs.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Included VC Africa Operations Manager role is designed for a person who will grow into running the show - leading efforts across applications, programme design, Fellow experience, and Fellowship execution. At its core, this role is about making sure the Fellowship runs exceptionally well - operationally, logistically, and experientially - so that Fellows, speakers, and partners feel the standard in every interaction.
The ideal candidate is a strong executor who takes real pride in the operational backbone of a high-quality Fellowship. A significant part of this role is doing the boring, repetitive, detail-heavy administrative work that keeps everything moving - scheduling, coordination, communications, follow-through, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. We are looking for someone who does not see this work as beneath them, but understands that, done well, it is the foundation of excellence.
At the same time, this person is always looking for ways to make things work better. They write well, communicate clearly, and are excited to learn and apply AI, automation, and smart workflows wherever these can reduce friction, save time, and raise the quality of what we deliver. This role requires strong judgement - knowing what needs urgency, what needs polish, what can be simplified, and where extra care will make the biggest difference.
Included VC Africa is a lean team, so youโll have meaningful autonomy and ownership over your work. This role spans operations, experience design, and hands-on execution. Youโre as comfortable handling repetitive admin as you are improving systems, sharpening communications, and raising the standard of how the Fellowship runs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Own and evolve our operational infrastructure - actively identifying where AI tools, automations, and smart workflows can eliminate friction, save time, and raise the quality of what we deliver. You wonโt wait to be told what to automate; youโll spot it and build it.
- Lead the application process - refining screening criteria, interviewing candidates, and communicating with future applicants.
- Take pride in the operational backbone of the Fellowship - managing the coordination, communications, systems, and follow-through that ensure everything runs smoothly and at a consistently high standard.
- Sweat the small stuff - ensuring we give Fellows & speakers, and anyone within our community, a highly professional experience with every last detail prepared, from warm intro email to thank you message.
- Coordinate with Founder/CEO to provide world-class experiences.
- Over time, build relationships with founders, investors, sponsors, and others across the Included VC Africa Global community.
- Design and launch new experimental offerings - based on feedback and your own creativity.
- Ensure Fellows have an experience they consistently describe as career-defining, community-shaping, and unlike anything else theyโve experienced professionally.
- Be the go-to point of contact for Fellows, and will be our eyes and ears on the ground, building strong relationships.

A note on how we operate
- Included VC Africa runs lean and delivers at a high standard. That means AI tools, automations, and smart workflows are going to be central to how we operate, and we're looking for someone who is genuinely excited to be at the frontier of that, not just comfortable with it.
- You don't need to be a developer. But you should be the kind of person who finds a repetitive task and immediately thinks, "I could automate this," then actually does it.
- Experience with tools like Zapier, Make, Notion, Airtable, or AI-assisted workflows is a strong signal.
- Curiosity and speed of learning matter more than a specific tool stack.
- If this feels like a stretch rather than a natural fit, this probably isn't the right role.
