About the Role
The Application Platform team at Taskrabbit is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the modernization of our front-end platform. You'll help design, build, and maintain the foundational ecosystem that powers Taskrabbit web, with decisions that will significantly impact engineering productivity and product direction.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build the next generation of Taskrabbit’s web front-end
- →Drive improvements to performance, reliability, and development ease
- →Improve developer tooling and processes for product engineering teams
- →Guide other engineers on best practices for feature design and implementation
- →Develop a unified approach to engineering with leadership teams
- →Advise senior leadership on platform state and future possibilities
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of experience developing modern web applications
- ✓Extensive experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, and Next.js
- ✓Experience building API-driven applications
- ✓Experience with Jest, Playwright, and other testing tools
- ✓Familiarity with modern frontend tools (NPM, Babel, ESLint, Webpack)
- ✓Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications
- ✓Strong technical design and architecture skills
- ✓Passion for mentoring other engineers
- ✓Strong written and verbal communication skills
- ✓Ability to explain complex technical subjects simply
- ✓Experience breaking down large tasks into achievable iterations
- ✓Knowledge of software engineering best practices
