About the Role
Toast is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our enterprise quick service restaurant team. This role involves working across the entire Toast platform, including POS, backend, and front end systems, to enhance enterprise-level support for growing restaurant businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features across Toastβs enterprise management products
- βLead complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for customers
- βPartner with various teams across Toast
- βEnsure quality by building automated testing for changes
- βRoll out features to customers, including monitoring for success
- βCollaborate with UX and PM on the definition and design of features
- βMentor and coach other engineers
Requirements
- β8+ years experience building backend services and APIs
- βExtensive experience working with Java or Kotlin, with a deep understanding of testing, quality, and best practices
- βExperience shipping production services and balancing getting things done with platform stability and reliability
- βExperience building backend services and APIs and scaling distributed systems
- βExperience building Android applications with Kotlin is a plus
- βExperience building front end applications is a plus
- βFocused on delivering positive impact for Toast customers
- βEnjoys working in a team environment with a shared code-base
- βExcellent cross-team communication skills on complex technical topics
