About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Core Experience - Commerce to join Trainline, Europe's number 1 downloaded rail app. This role will operate within the commerce area in the Core Experience pillar, reporting into the head of engineering and managing 2 Engineering managers and a few staff/principal engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the Payment, Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) and E-commerce team
- →Be responsible for the delivery of OKRs and maintaining SLOs
- →Act as a connective tissue for a consolidated technical vision across teams and functions
- →Own end-to-end delivery for your teams, ensuring projects are planned, executed, and delivered in a timely and high-quality manner
- →Partner closely with Product, Design, Data Science and business stakeholders to align technical delivery to business outcomes
- →Support technical direction and architecture without being deeply hands-on with code
- →Drive alignment in cross-team dependencies and ensure clarity on technical prioritisation, system interactions, and data flows between systems
- →Champion engineering best practices across teams, promoting quality and fostering a culture of technical innovation
- →Drive operational excellence, ensuring that all teams under your leadership have robust monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes
