About the Role
Trivelta is seeking a Lead Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the core infrastructure of our online sports betting and casino platform. This technical leadership role will drive innovation, optimize system performance, and ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- →Architect and develop backend systems, designing scalable, high-performance solutions with robust APIs for mobile, web, and third-party integrations.
- →Ensure performance, security, and compliance by optimizing system performance, implementing security best practices, and adhering to AML, KYC, data privacy, and state-by-state sweepstakes regulations.
- →Manage data infrastructure by building and maintaining data pipelines to support analytics, fraud detection, geolocation controls, and regulatory reporting.
- →Lead and mentor engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- →Drive technical strategy by leading architectural discussions, evaluating emerging technologies, and aligning solutions with long-term company goals.
- →Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, compliance, and support teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- →Ensure operational resilience by leading incident response, implementing monitoring and alerting systems, and conducting root cause analysis for long-term fixes.
Requirements
- ✓Proven experience designing, developing, and scaling high-performance backend systems.
- ✓Expert hands-on experience with Python for backend development, automation, and data processing.
- ✓Strong experience in API development, CI/CD processes, and infrastructure automation.
- ✓Deep understanding of system performance tuning, security protocols, and regulatory compliance, including AML, KYC, and data privacy.
- ✓Experience with data pipeline design, analytics integration, and geolocation-based access controls.
- ✓Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring engineers and contributing to strategic architectural decisions.
- ✓Excellent collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams across product, finance, compliance, and support.
- ✓Hands-on experience with incident management, monitoring systems, and root cause analysis.
- ✓Based in Barcelona
- ✓Fluent in English
- ✓Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- ✓EU work authorization required — no visa sponsorship
