Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Back-end Engineer (Python) to join a high-impact engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate across teams to build and enhance scalable products, contribute to architectural decisions, and act as a technical partner to product stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Develop new products and features using modern backend technologies
- Collaborate closely with QA to ensure product quality through test-driven development (TDD)
- Contribute to planning, design, and requirement discussions within your scrum team
- Review code, participate in pair programming, and promote best practices
- Drive architectural decisions and propose solutions for complex technical challenges
- Improve performance, scalability, and maintainability of existing systems
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years with Python
- Strong experience with Python frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI
- Hands-on experience with OpenAPI and SQLAlchemy
- Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Redshift, etc.)
- Experience designing and building scalable APIs and systems
- Strong refactoring and code quality practices
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Experience mentoring other engineers
