About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to play a critical role in shaping the future architecture of ResortPass’s marketplace platform. This high-leverage Staff-level role focuses on system correctness, scalability, and reliability, acting as a technical anchor for backend systems that power core marketplace experiences.

Key Responsibilities

→Lead the architectural evolution of the backend, establishing it as the single source of truth for pricing, inventory, and marketplace logic
→Drive the full API redesign and rewrite of Marketplace Core, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
→Design and implement integrations with external vendors supporting the Hotels platform
→Consolidate fragmented pricing and inventory logic into a unified backend domain
→Define and enforce API contracts and service boundaries
→Mentor engineers and elevate engineering standards

Requirements

✓Strong experience building and scaling backend systems using Ruby on Rails and/or Node.js
✓Proven ability to operate at a Staff or senior technical leadership level
✓Experience designing robust APIs and backend services for complex business domains
✓Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
✓Hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments and AWS ECS
✓Experience building and maintaining reliable, scalable production systems
✓Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like Datadog
